SITE MANAGER / RESIDENT ENGINEER – COAL-FIRED POWER PLANT CONSTRUCTION PROJECT – INDONESIA


Our client is an International Consulting and Engineering Company, delivering management consulting and engineering services, with strong project implementation capability and expertise in the power generation, transmission & distribution, forest industry, chemicals and biorefining, mining & metals, transportation and water sectors; with offices worldwide.

They are a leading power sector consulting engineering company in SE Asia for thermal and renewable energy power plants.

 

We are seeking to recruit a Site Manager / Resident Engineer for one of our client’s coal fired power projects in Indonesia.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Manager/RE shall be responsible for overall site supervision of the power plant construction and erection and management of the Owner Engineer site supervision team.

 

Required candidate qualifications and requirements: -

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • At least 15 years’ experience in construction and erection works in power plant or other complx industrial type construction projects.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in site or construction management of construction and erection works in power plant.
  • Prior experience in coal fired power project construction in SE Asia preferred.
  • Good experience of handling of health, safety and environmental aspects of the project construction.
  • Experience of handling of site QA/QC procedures, material receiving procedures, material handling and storage etc.
  • Strong leadership personality with good communication skills, fluent English language.

The role is 5/6 days per week, full time position throughout the duration of the project.

Our client is a leader in the Manufacturing and Processing of Water-soluble Polymers, the largest polyacrylamide manufacturer in the world.  Head Office located in Western Europe, the Group comprises subsidiaries and joint ventures in more than 30 countries and operates 23 production sites in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas.
They are currently building a speciality CHEMICAL PLANT in Gujarat, India for the production of Polymers and are seeking to recruit a MECHANICAL OR CHEMICAL ENGINEER to reinforce their construction team; to control the contractors for erection platform, mechanical, equipment installation, piping electricity and instrumentation within a team of 5-6 engineers.

Candidates should have 5-10 years of experience, preferably having previously worked in the Middle East, (UAE, Oman etc).  The construction duration is about 18 months and our client is seeking versatile professionals.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction of chemical, plastics, oil plants etc. preferably having previously worked in the Middle East, ie. Oman, UAE etc.   Fluent in English and Guajarati language is a bonus. 

Duties & Responsibilities:-
·    
*  Reports to the Project Manager.
*  Manages the electrical and instrumentation activities on the site during construction.
*  Participates in the coordination between disciplines.
*  Ensures the quality and compliance with schedule of the electrical instrumentation activity. ·      *  Ensures compliance with specifications, standards, HSE.
*  Validates the costs against initial budgets.
*  Identifies and supervises the evaluation of the cost of scope changes.
*  Identifies trends and proposes corrective actions.
